6 Things You Should Never Say on

“You’ll never guess this, but its the one weird trick we used to get you to read this tip.” This kind of blatant click bait will annoy your audience, even on Facebook, and it could cause customers and client to not trust you. Instead of using hyped up titles, you should provide real value with all your social media content.

Create the perfect post on Facebook, consists of 40 characters. According to research it is the ideal length for a Facebook post. This doesn’t leave a lot of room for extended thoughts it’s intended for you to be breef and to the point. If you would like your extended thoughts read you should take your customers off Facebook and direct them to your website or blog. Use your 40 characters to give a gimps of your idea and leave them wanting more this way they will click on your link. As the old saying goes, less is more and it’s absolutely true.

You need to make sure that you’re actually delivering on your title. Don’t tease your readers with “clickable bait” after all when once they click on your “false titles” they probably will never come back to your site. They might go as far as unfollowing you.

Please don’t use these if you want to keep your readers engaged.

The biggest no-no’s:

  • “You’ll never guess…”
  • “You won’t believe…”
  • “This one weird trick…”
  • “You’ll only understand if…”
  • “This video will make you cry…”
  • Any question that can be answered with one word.

In order to make your readers happy don’t use the above list of “clickable bate.”
